ACTION FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT (AYODE)
Today’s globalized world is increasingly changing alongside with challenging and unprecedented trends in all sectors of life. A tough and too demanding environment necessitates a highly competitive, well-trained and adaptable workforce with enough employability skills and abilities to achieve a sustainable knowledge-based and technology-led economy.
Youth especially young people are currently burdened by various forms of social economic crisis due to unemployment, sexual exploitation and violence resulting in early teenage pregnancies, drug use, as well as high dropout rates amongst others. As a response to youth socio-economic empowerment, AcrossAid has judged it compulsory to support disengaged young people through hands-on employability skills and other livelihood opportunities such as small start-ups businesses, saving schemes etc. for self-reliance while integrating them into vocational trainings activities.
Action for Youth Development (AYODE), focuses in particular on measures to strengthen youth capacities and increase the quality and quantity of opportunities. Its mission is to help young people to get lifelong employability skills and adequate resources to achieve resilience.
KORUTERIMBERE Project_Vocational Trainings on Hands-on Employability Activities.
KORUTERIMBERE Project was initiated to increase young people’s entrepreneurial skills especially teen mothers and other school dropout youth while engaging them into income generating activities that may improve their lives. At least 87 young people from Nyarugenge District were enrolled into the program which focused on three main areas: Tailoring, Hair-dressing and Culinary arts. Most of the AcrossAid “KORA UTERIMBERE” Project activities are still on-going as the organization is increasing its fundraising mechanism to reach more targeted beneficiaries and register more youth into the program.

AcrossAid engages youth to potentially apply their inner abilities for self-reliance and development while promoting them to self-employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
AcrossAid conducts job creation and entrepreneurship training programs in order to assist vulnerable young people and ensure their full participation in development of their country.
AcrossAid sets new emerging talents and innovations among young people are identified and promoted to help them meet challenges and achieve resilience.
AcrossAid is involved in engaging young people in peace building activities such as conflict resolution, peace and reconciliation through open workshops in order to promote social and cultural values for human dignity.
